Summer in Spring!

I saw this and thought it was lovely!
More self-love and less self-nagging- my new mantra!

I currently have a hacking cough and a cold. Its nuisance more than anything else, but is a reminder that I should be grateful for the body I have that is able to do all the things I ask of it.

Some occasional ankle pain, but nothing unbearable. Time to be kinder to me. Is going vegetarian going to help that? Might be kinder to the planet too, and we all need to take some responsibility for that.

No booze, no meat, less dairy..... watch this space!

She is turning into me!

I have competition - she is great and has her own lovely style :-)

I can't work out how to turn this round!
Notice the wedding in the background?

Friday saw us in Crews Hill - lovely!

Plans and pebbles and tea and cake - perfect!

Friday evening was spent catching up with Lydia and Amanda in Borough (very nice!) and then Leyton Market on Saturday morning.

Not much money made, but fun.It was a glorious sunny day - the afternoon was spent planting and painting - pretty perfect!

Some latest pebbles and some progress is seen I think

Sunday we prepared for visitors. Mona and co came for lunch and Damian's Special Egg Hunt!

Happy faces - eggs found!

The evening saw a trip to Cherry Green Trees and Amy converting us to Vegetarianism!!!

Return to Edinburgh!!

The last few weeks have been hectic, but filled with good things (mostly!)

One of the fun things was going to watch Jessica in The Full Monty.
It was a great show and she was marvellous!

Amys Granuloma annulare is not improving, so we had her seen too!
Biopsy taken and waiting for results. I really hope it can be treated - she is very self conscious of it.
Fingers crossed.

Nicky and Molly came for a quick visit - lovely lunch and a catch up!

We squeezed in  Brownie holiday too - our theme was "Pixes, elves etc"
It was  St Patricks day, so leprechauns were included.... :-)

A few girls volunteered to tidy up the hide away. It has been a hotel for spiders and other mini beasts over winter, but we gave a good spring clean.

Fairy houses were made out of natural things - this was the winning home.
It boasted a meditation area and WIFI - my kind of home!

I snatched moments here and there to paint for Athena's Red Nose Event and Build for Shay.

I love painting these mandala's and its event better when I have a cause in my mind.

Athena kindly gave me £25 for my efforts, which I have passed on to SAR!!

Happy, happy, happy!

What I can only called  a crazed man, drove his car across Westminster bridge, killing 4 people I believe. He injured many more. What for? What could possibly hope to gain.
All that has happened is more suffering in the world, including for his parents.
So sad. We carry on though and hope no other such events will occur.

Minding our own patch - maybe thats not enough?

\
I totally loved painting this big pebble and luckily Chrissie won it in the raffle for Build for Shay!!!

Dad is going to buy the bed he needs - I am thrilled, because it is exactly what mum would have wanted. She adored that little boy and he loved her too <3

On that same day, 25th march, Duncan and I gave a talk to the land folk at Christchurch.

Its always a little nerve wracking and always makes me feel terribly emotional.

They donated £250 so very worth while being outside my comfort zone for a short while!

Awesome Amanda sold lots of goodies too - looking forward to the market next week!

Then it was Mothers Day

I miss her every day, but these landmarks just make the feelings more raw somehow.

I do miss picking up the phone to fill her in on any news.

I hope she is looking down and thinking that I am doing a reasonable job of everything!

My Mothers Day was spent counting (fun times!) then off to 383 for a lovely lunch.
Sardines and tea - perfect!

The day was perfectly ended with dinner with James, Amy and Damian.
Byron in Oxford Street - where we went just before i left for Rwanda.
A fun night - I can fly from,,,,, but can't fly from,,,,?
Whats this ...1,2,3,4,5,6?
:-)

We've had a few days like this!!!!

Lovely!!

Mairi is happy with the Church and we have a date - 1st July 2017!

After a stressful morning, dropping Amy at work, D and I headed for Scotland.

Me, failing to look elegant on the Royal Yacht Britannia!

Relatively painful but completely honest!

Fun times at Camera Obscura!!

JJ texted to say he found the book I had been thinking of! Joyful would describe how I felt!

Long discussion in this corner with Jennifer and Ruby re Maria staying with Diny (or not)

They are adamant it cannot happen - and I think I agree.

I could see the potential positives, but also the potential negatives.

Decision taken out of our hands.

I love spending time with this one <3

He puts up with my crazy and I put up with his!

Nice to be away, with few distractions, good to feel re-connected x

I have decided to quit drinking for 1 month and then review the situation.

Appropriate to be visiting the whisky experience!!

Sunday had us out celebrating Ellen's 21st birthday.

So proud of how our young people are growing up - finding their way in this often difficult world.

I'm not telling what they are laughing at - 2 thumbs and ......?

Monday night ping pong for Emily's 21st

What a fun night - I was no good, but we did laugh a lot!

Some disks that became necklaces! I love painting them!
